According to C.S Lewis “We read to know we are not alone”. How true is this statement, let’s find out. One of the nourishment you give to your writing in a book is your ability to quote relevant authors that believe in your school of thought. Show us a write-up that is devoid of referencing and we would show you a writer that has not done his homework. No man is an island of knowledge and believe us when we tell you this, as a writer, the thought pattern whether gotten from above or beneath in which you are trying to communicate has been touched by someone and it is your duty to find out who and who has an idea of what you are saying so that you won't be left in the dark.
Having a good source is very important when writing and this can only be done when the writer is a vast reader because every now and then information flies around; it is your own duty to be able to streamline which one that is beneficiary to you and make use of it. The Holy Scripture said in 2 Corinthians 13 vs 1: “In the mouth of two or three witnesses, the truth is known”. If this is true, then what validate your thought in the presence of your reader is your reference and your reference can only beget through reading.
