Timothy Omotoso Denied Bail In South Africa



South Africa's branch of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has called for proper method to be followed on account of a Nigerian minister who was arrested on Thursday in the country.

Minister Timothy Omotoso, who appeared in a Port Elizabeth Court on Friday over alleged assaults and human trafficking, was denied bail.

He is to stay in jail until the case continues on May 3, 2017.

The CAN agents who addressed Channels Television journalist in South Africa communicated stress that the development may trigger more hostilities to Nigerian contingent in the nation, if not appropriately dealt with.

The 58-year-old TV minister of the Jesus Dominion International Ministries was nabbed by agents of the Priority Crimes Unit of the South African Police Service (The Hawks).


He was nabbed over accusations of sex assaults and human trafficking including around 30 female members, after some youthful individuals from his assemblage asserted that the pastor had sexually attacked them for quite a long time.

An investigative component on South Africa's national telecaster last Monday indicated three young ladies who asserted to have been his casualties.

One of them who is presently 25, asserted that the affirmed attack started when she was 14 years of age.

In an announcement, The Hawks said the minister supposedly trafficked the young ladies from different branches of his congregation to a house in Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal where he professedly misused them sexually.
