1 Corinthians 15:1-11
Outline
For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures. 1 Corinthians 15:3, NIV
Our today’s text is the oldest of all testimonies to our Lord’s death and resurrection by one among many eyewitnesses, the apostle Paul. This is the heart of the Christian gospel – “Christ died for our sins.” Ever since Adam’s sin, every human had been guilty of disobeying God’s righteous laws and the Bible attests to this when Romans 3:23 says, “for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” As a result, everyone deserves death (not just physical death but eternal separation from God).
Our today’s text is the oldest of all testimonies to our Lord’s death and resurrection by one among many eyewitnesses, the apostle Paul. Although God banished Adam and Eve from the garden, He did not leave them without hope. He gave them the alternative, to send a sacrifice to atone for their sins. Since then, men sacrificed animals repeatedly but without repentance from sin. It was the bid to perfect the reconciliation between man and God that made Christ to make Himself manifest. Jesus’ death was so momentous that it dealt with human's sin against God. By believing in this great act of God to mankind, your liberation from the “curse of the law” is guaranteed. What else do you need to accept Christ as your Lord and Saviour?
Wisdom: You lose nothing but gain everything by believing salvation through Christ's death.
Food for Thought: What if Christ had not died for your sins?
Follow-up Action: Preach the goodnews to appreciate the death of Christ
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you again today for dying for my sin.
Thanks bro
