Over time, several ETCSINES write-up has dwelt on the role of the parents in enhancing the academic growth of the students. This function has become a mandate to the parents to see this as one of their parental functions.
We will continue to echo this fact and trust that this will affect a change in our nation. As I mentioned in one of my previous write-ups, this is another open letter to our dear parents in accordance with the mission to eradicate the cramming system in the Nigerian educational sector.
Reading growth is pivotal to a student’s academic development, as it is one of the ways to evaluate the level at which the student has independently developed an effective study habit.
The goal of learning is the ability to practice what you have learnt beyond the school environments. I will love to ask, “How many parents engage the students in tutorials after school hours and weekends?” The parents should ensure that a reading culture is established in the students.
