The Significance Of An Educated Mind - ETCSINES
Significance is the quality of being worthy of attention. It is a state in which a concept can be referred to as important. In our previous write-up, we have been able to discuss some germane issues that has to do with having an educated mind. Let's take a look at theoretical definition of what the significance of a study means.
The Significance of the Study describes what contribution your study will make to the broad literature or set of broad educational problems upon completion. You will agree with me that this study has been able to meet up with that standard.
A quick review of what an Educated mind is; An educated mind can be defined as a well knowledgeable and informed mind that has learned and enlightened his or her self on the things happening around and needed information.
Aristotle said "It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it."
How true is this? I guess it depends on the individual involved.
One of the parameters to measure the significance of an educated mind is to know how many people have taken their time to considered the concept. If we take a tour into the internet and type the word "Educated Mind", the first search results you will get is the book written by an educational philosopher named "Kieran Egan". This shows that this is well researchable and pivotal to the success of this campaign.
How does this relate to Reading or how can this reawakening the reading of culture of Nigeria Students. Permit to quote two out of the basis of argument of the book "The Educated Mind: How Cognitive Tools Shape Our Understanding". Lwritten by "Kieran Egan".
Egan argues that much of educational theorizing pivots around three basic ideas of what the aim of education should be:
1. To educate people in content that would give them a "privileged and rational view of reality" (Plato). Here we find the following ideas: reason and knowledge can provide a privileged access to the world; knowledge drives the student mind development; education is an epistemological process.
2. To realize the right of every individual to pursue his own educational curriculum through self-discovery (Rousseau). Here we also find the ideas that student development drives knowledge and that education is a psychological process.
With this, I leave my readers with this pertinent questions, Does the Cramming System support the above argument? Your answer is a good as mind.
