Marcus Rashford has revealed the legendary forward he has tried to emulate

England v Slovenia - FIFA 2018 World Cup Qualifier
Marcus Rashford has the world at his feet.
It has been a rapid rise for Rashford, who only made his Manchester United debut in 2016 in a Europa League tie against FC Midtjylland.
The Englishman was not even meant to start that game, but an injury to Anthony Martial gave the youngster his chance.

And boy did he take it.
Rashford went on to score twice that night, and he has progressed at a rapid rate ever since.
Now 20 years old, the forward is now an established figure for both club and country, and he is considered by many to be one of the most gifted youngsters in world football.

RASHFORD NAMES HIS IDOL GROWING UP

And Rashford, who has scored seven times in 18 appearances for Man United this year, has revealed that he attempted to emulate a certain Brazilian forward growing up.
Ronaldo was an absolutely extraordinary striker, who was without doubt the most lethal striker throughout the 90's and early 00's.
Injuries and off the field problems curtailed what was a quite incredible career, and many have argued that these injuries prevented him from being considered one of the greatest of all time.
And Rashford has revealed he spent hours watching highlights of Ronaldo on YouTube, and tried to base his game around his.
The Englishman said: "I used to watch a lot of him (Ronaldo) growing up, all of his games
"He was obviously a top player who won a lot of things in his career, so when you know he's saying good things about you then it really stands out.
"I watched all those clips on YouTube and my first-ever game that I saw live, he was playing in it. It was at Old Trafford and I always remember it.
"It was in 2003. He scored a hat-trick. I was only young though. I was five. He was my brother's favourite player, that's why I've grown up watching so much of him and his games.
"He always played free. No matter where he was playing, he played free and went out there and expressed himself. When you do that, that's when you play your best football.
"When you're young you watch clips of the best players in the world and try to emulate them, so it just tends to happen naturally."
Considering the brilliance Ronaldo showed on the football pitch, that is not a bad idol to have.
Let's hope Rashford can continue to impress, so that one day we can speak of Rashford in the same breath as the legendary Brazilian forward.
