Morning Devotion: SING PRAISES O GENTILES

Friday, January 6

Romans 15:7-13

... Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles. And sing praises to him, all you peoples. Romans 15:11, NIV
The acronym for the word 'grace' - God's Riches At Christ's Expense- describes the undeserved favour that Gentiles received from God. Gentiles do not merit receiving salvation because they were not part of God's chosen people, the Jews.
However God decided in His unending mercy to extend the tentacle of grace to them alongside the Jews.
These are the ones who will glorify God as indicated in verses 9 and 11 of our text.

The fulfillment of salvation to the Jews is a manifestation of God's faithfulness in keeping His Word. The extension of salvation to the Gentiles is a pure act of divine prerogative.
Understanding salvation as an act of God's faithfulness and mercy should help believers review our attitude towards our non- believing neighbours.
Instead of seeing them as unfit for us to relate with, we should see them as potential candidates for redemption.
Know that Christ's salvation incorporates both believers and sinners, though some may not have appropriated theirs.
But all shall jointly sing the salvation song of glory to God someday if we reach them for the Lord. Let us work and relate with this in mind.
Pray with this: "Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land, " says the Lord Almighty. Mal 3:12
