Hebrews 12:1-13
Outline
No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. Hebrews 12:11, NIV
The writer of Hebrews in chapter 12 extols the importance of discipline and the need to endure same as Christians when situation calls for it. The writer explains that discipline whether from earthly or heavenly father indicates the love from the father towards his son. The author describes whoever rejects discipline as a bastard. He, however, maintains that enduring discipline regardless of the pains one might pass through produces fruits of righteousness and peace making the one who endures the pains of discipline to be at peace with God.
Also, with God nothing can replace the virtue of discipline as far as the Christian race is concerned, If today Christians will maintain a strong cordiality with God and be at peace with Him, they must endure discipline. How do you respond to discipline? As you go out today, discipline must be your watchword if your speech and action will be right in God’s sight and you Will enjoy His peace.
