Psalm 22:1-5
Outline
In you our fathers …trusted and you delivered them. They cried to you and were saved.... Psalm 22:4-5, NIV
Psalm 22 expresses the groan of a creature to his Creator. The Psalmist felt neglected by God when he pleaded for His help in his tribulation and all he got was silence. He however was comforted by his remembrance of the good deeds of God to his forefathers when He delivered them from all their calamities. He acknowledged God as holy (v. 3), worthy of praises of man (v. 3), dependable (vs. 3-4).
Do you feel forsaken in your present situation? Do you feel God is not interested in your affair again? Look back and meditate on the past deeds of God even in your life and you also will be able to acknowledge that God is glorious. Your present unfavourable situation is not enough to define who God is in your life. Who was He in your past experience? It is only your absolute faith in Him that will spur you to remember how good He was in the past and still trust Him as the good God in all situations as He works out your victory in your present predicament.
