Isaiah 60:1-5
Outline
When you see them coming you’ll smile… a rich harvest of exiles gathered in from other nations.
Isaiah 60:5, MSG
There was a time in Israel that the circumstances
surrounding the people of God brought them into serious depression and
frustration. Sorrow, gloom and devastation became their lot because they
were forced, by other nations, to live in exile. The glorious
deliverance they hoped for became elusive. By this time, all hope for
Israelites was lost and their joy consequently ceased. In the midst of
these, God suddenly spoke: “Lift up your eyes and look about you: All
assemble and come to you; your sons come from afar, and your daughters
are carried on the arm” (v. 4).
Today, the Lord has purposed to do the same thing in your
life and even far more. He says that whatever you have lost to the enemy
will return to you. He asks you to refrain from your tears. You have
wept enough concerning that terrible situation you were suddenly edged
in; now you will greatly rejoice, because there is going to be a rich
harvest of good things in your life. There is going to be a “reunion” of
the things you have lost. Rejoice, you are coming atop your situations.
