Iceland exit Euros on a high
It was a fairytale while it lasted and it ended with a thud. Iceland won the hearts of many football fans with their gutsy approach to the Euros and their win over England in the round of 16 turned them into heroes but France were not going to be denied and thumped the Icelandic team 5-2 but in that defeat, they were not disgraced.
A land of 330,000 made the quarter final of the European championship whilst 10 per cent of their population physically attended their games in France – that is what you call total support!
