Oh Mother Nigeria by Aforinwo Babatunde Solomon

afo2
I have really tried to restrain myself from writing on this particular issue. I have my several reason, most especially as I’ve never hidden my feelings that I don’t actually buy the idea of women being in power.
If the madness that happened recently in the Upper Chamber is something to call for reasoning, then the responses by the Osun, Ondo, and Lagos mothers needs to be given a careful thought too. In my last piece on this same issue, I concluded that Sen. Remi. Tinubu actually got what she wanted. Because her husband “owns” Lagos doesn’t make her “own” the Upper Chamber. I have come to realize that Nigeria is being governed and ruled by people with selfish interest, selfish motive and selfish gain! I’ve always asked myself this question: is Remi Tinubu the only female Senator? Did we hear any female Senator being harassed in such manner of tongue before now? Anyway, I will come back to this madness between the two senators maybe another time!

It is so unfortunate, shameful, disgusting and pitiful that some of our mothers could come down so low to roam about the streets of Lagos calling for the head of Senator Melaye! How much were they paid to do so? How can they belittle themselves, leave their petty trading only to walk around supporting someone who never even knew they exist(they should have being more shameful by walking naked sef since it is a rape issue naa… Mtcheeew)? Several terrible occurrences have actually happened in this country recently, and I’ve never heard or witness where Mother Nigeria, came together to form an alliance to stand against such!
Do you remember Ese Oruru? The poor innocent girl that was Kidnapped and married off? What was the part played by Mother Nigeria during her case? Do you know Yinusa(her abductor)has being granted bail? Where is Mother Nigeria?
Recently, an innocent and poor evangelist was macheted and buttered in Abuja, not forgetting several other women that have been unjustly killed, and raped by fulani herdsmen , oh! Mother Nigeria where were you?
A church was vandalized recently in same Abuja, so where is Mother Nigeria?
Several women have been mishandled and killed by their husbands all in the name of domestic violence … Oh! Mother Nigeria isn’t aware?
Several of your daughters even @ tender age now enjoys prostitution rather than going to school or you aren’t aware abi?
Okay ooo, Mother Nigeria… Chibok girls nko? Have you forgotten them ni?
Maybe I should remind us that no more pepper N50! Can’t mother Nigeria Protest?
BSc. No vacancy, Civil servant no salary, minimum wage story – what is the impact of Mother Nigeria in all these?
Children dieing of hunger each day, bad roads, No power supply, Doctors on strike, teachers on strike, Nupeng on strike, Lecturers on strike, high cost of living, terrible roads (Meanwhile, the Politicians fly on the air). Abi Mother Nigeria isn’t aware ni?
Oh time will not permit me to keep writing, but I wish Mother Nigeria will arise, think and fight for the needful! Arise Mother Nigeria, stop selling the future of your children for a tin cup of rice! Arise Mother Nigeria, fight against corruption, fight for the future of your unborn kids, no Life is worth laying down for any politician! Arise Mother Nigeria, you sent your children to school out of sweat so you could enjoy your tomorrow! Now they’ve gone to school but jobless! Some turned into armed robbers, some into 419ers, some into prostitutes, some into gate-men and security men, many of your graduated children do menial jobs to survive, whereas these politicians takes their children overseas to school with ready made job waiting for them! Will you keep quiet? When the world was mocking The former first lady “PEJ” why didn’t you protest? Why didn’t you fight that the first lady was being rubbish?
Arise Mother Nigeria, every politician is for him/herself, you also need to be for yourself as God will be for us all.
Arise!Arise!Arise…
Oh Mother Nigeria!
