Hearts defender Juwon Oshaniwa has said his team’s goalless draw against Celtic in their Scottish Premier League clash on Saturday will boost The Jam Tarts after their home 3-1 to Aberdeen.
South Africa 2013 Africa Cup of nations winner Oshaniwa returned to the line-up after serving the match ban due to red card he received in a 2-0 loss at Inverness CT.
“The draw at Celtic is a great result and important result for us. The league is still young and there are many points to fight for,” he told AfricanFootball.com.
“I am sure this result we have positive impact on us as individual player and as a team.”
Oshaniwa said he was excited to have played against his Super Eagles teammate Efe Ambrose in the encounter. Ambrose was given the marching orders in the game.
“I am very happy to see him (Efe) again, this time against each other,” he said.
Ambrose said he had no regrets being sent off in the clash.
Celtic fans hailed Ambrose’s last-ditch tackle stopping goal-bound Hearts Sam Nicholson.
“I was happy to help my team get something from the game,” he told AfricanFootball.com.
“I was the last man and so I had no choice but to make the tackle and save us from losing the game in the very last minute.”
Champions Celtic are now second in the table with Hearts closely behind in third place.
